Darwin on Trial

This page examines the scientific evidence upon which Darwinian Evolutionary theory is built. Phillip Johnson's book Darwin on Trial critiqued this evidence. A number of Johnson's articles are listed below.
  The Blind Watchmaker
"'Biology is the study of complicated things that give the appearance of having been designed for a purpose.' So writes Richard Dawkins, author of The Blind Watchmaker. As a Darwinist, Dawkins maintains that the appearance is deceptive, and that living organisms are actually the product of purposeless material forces-random genetic variation and natural selection. This 'blind watchmaker thesis' is the most important claim of evolutionary biology." So begins Johnson in this article that critically examines this blind watchmaker thesis.
  Ruse Gives Away the Store
Dr. Michael Ruse, professor of zoology and philosophy of science at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, stunned his listeners at the 1993 annual AAAS meeting in Boston by announcing that he had recently come to view evolution as ultimately based on several unproven philosophical assumptions. Tom Woodward, president of the C. S. Lewis Fellowship, documents this historic meeting.
  What is Darwinism?
This paper was originally delivered as a lecture at a symposium at Hillsdale College, in November 1992. Papers from the Symposium were published in the collection Man and Creation: Perspectives on Science and Theology (Bauman ed. 1993), by Hillsdale College Press, Hillsdale MI 49242.
Darwin on Trial
This book review of Darwin on Trial was done by Dr. Ray Bohlin of Probe Ministries. "Johnson critiques evolutionary theory from a secular standpoint as he examines the philosophical games many scientists play to protect their evolutionary ideology."
